"Learning from other people in the real world."
This semester-long project was sponsored by both Microsoft and Motorola. Our task was to explore how mobile technologies and contextual awareness could enable learning.
We spent several months engaged in user research to understand how people learn (and want to learn). We performed research into psychology literature, composed a "learning journal study," held several collage sessions, and completed multiple distinct design iterations.
My Role
My role included presenting, market analysis and competitive survey, designing our journal, synthesis (lots of synthesis), creating wireframes and paper
prototypes, conducting paper prototyping sessions, presenting, and producing our video.
Our final design focused on using contextual awareness to help individuals find, take advantage of, and reflect upon opportunities to learn from other people face-to-face. Indigo takes the unique stance of using people as the interface to help users gain awareness of the learning opportunities that exist close to them (both physically and socially).
