The Design

Flirtastic!

"Flirting with video!"

Adobe sponsored this project, which asked us to explore how video messaging could enable interpersonal communication.

My team decided to look at flirting, and we spent many careful hours conducting user research in local bars. We developed a model of flirting and saw through a competitive analysis that there were few web services offering a casual but structured approach to meeting people online.

We initially developed several concepts, and through storyboarding and further user research decided to pursue a "call and response" game format.

My Role
My role included managing team meetings, conducting user research, creating storyboards, synthesizing like crazy, presenting, and building the video sketch.

Flirtastic!

Our team of five worked five weeks to design and build Flirtastic! This design was named one of three finalists in the designer/developer collaboration category of the 2008 Adobe Design Achievement Awards, an international student design competition. It has also been presented at several conferences.
